Cllr Mrs Victoria Borwick - Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea

April 2007

In the last month there seems to have been lots of different residents issues, so please continue to contact me with any problems that I and your fellow councillors can try and help with.

Cheniston Gardens

Are you one of the residents here, or locally that are having a problem with refuse collection? Do let me know as we have enforcement officers ready to take action.

Lexham Gardens Arch

This is another one of those on going local issues that seem to be taking a great deal of time arguing with insurers and builders to get this work finished - or should I say started and rebuilt.

Tesco Towers and Warwick Road - Planning

There are a number of concerns, firstly about Tesco towers and what facilities will be available for residents, and it is proving very difficult to get the developers to agree to residents needs for community facilities, doctor and dentist premises and all the things that will make this a popular place to actually live, rather than just short term overseas rentals.

In addition there are a number of planning applications for the other sites in Warwick Road, and all your local councillors are having regular meetings with the Planning department to try and ensure that we get reasonable and attractive developments.

If you like to keep a watch on current planning applications, here is a link to the Borough website on planning:

Crime Figures

Figures across the Borough as a whole are good, with crime figures reducing. However we are still seeing thefts from motor vehicles - Satellite navigation systems - even if the thief can see the holder through the window, they know it is worth breaking in to find your system, so please remove them from your vehicle.

The latest report from our local police mentions several "snatch" thefts – with mobile phones stolen, either on the street, or from people using motor bikes or mopeds to get away. There have also been an increasing number of burglaries, so do keep windows and doors securely locked, and don't open the door to strangers.

Greater London Authority

Angie Bray our current representative for the GLA is sanding down to fight the parliamentary seat of Ealing, and the new Conservative candidate for this seat is Kit Malthouse, the elections for Mayor for London and the GLA will take place in May 2008.
