Segways
After the holidays I come back to find that Segways are banned from the roads. I know several friends who have these, and they are real fans. It is quicker and much more fun than being stuck on London Transport. Vote Victoria for Mayor and we will have a system for Segway proficiency tests - like we have for bikes, and then Segway users can use them on the roads. If we have to invoke the Highway Act of 1835, to get Segways banned, then it is time we updated the rules! What's your view on segways?

Well of course the law on Segways hasn't actually changed, it's just that the D for T doesn't want to think about them so the easiest thing is to just say 'NO'. When Segway visited the Department to inform them what a Segway is and what it does, of the 4 officials delegated to meet the company representatives, only one was actually prepared to ride the machine, and then only for 100 metres. This is the highly informed basis on which the department edict was issued. Need I say more?
